June 3, 2008 "I'm wondering who could be singing this song...", Workshop part of Movement Research Festival, 10am-2pm. Register via this link.

Workshop Description: Garcia's choreographic practice involves scores created for dancers drawing from her own background in experimental music. Approaching dance composition as an expanded act, the dancer is considered as an expanded artist, who, even without previous musical training, has the potential to sing and make music. This potential is explored through vocalizing lyrics and melodies from remembered songs, working with set sound and movement phrase material, and creating/performing short improvisational scores.
